Jenna Rodgers – Artistic Director

Jenna is a mixed-race Director and Dramaturg based in Moh’kins’tis (Calgary) on Treaty 7 Territory. She is the founding Artistic Director of Chromatic Theatre, and the Dramaturg at the Banff Playwright’s Lab at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. She is also a passionate arts equity advocate, an active member of the Consent and Respect in Theatre (CART) collective; the Vice President of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for LMDA; and the Board Chair for Theatre Alberta. Jenna is the recipient of a 2018 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Emerging Artists, as well as a past Artistic Leadership Resident at the National Theatre School of Canada. She is a graduate from the 2019 cohort of the Banff Centre’s Cultural Leadership program, and holds a MA in International Performance Research from the universities of Amsterdam and Tampere.

Recent Directing credits include: Sherlock Holmes and the Raven’s Curse (Vertigo Theatre), Chromatic Theatre (Winners and LosersCowboy Versus Samurai); fu-GEN Theatre (Mixie and the Halfbreeds); Workshop West Theatre (Beyond the Darkness);; Pape and Taper Theatre (Timmy, Tommy, and the Haunted Hotel); and Lunchbox Theatre (Let the Light of Day Through). Catch her work in 2020 at ATP (Actually) and Chromatic Theatre (我的名字是张欣恩(Gimme Chance Leh)).

Kristen Padayas – Associate Producer

Associate Producer, Kristen Padayas

Kristen is a graduate of Grant MacEwan College’s Theatre Arts Program and the University of Alberta’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting Program. Select acting credits include: Bare: A Pop Opera (Raw Mango Theatre), On the Banks of the Nut (Teatro la Quindicina), Matt and Ben (Theatre Transit), Harold and Vivian Entertain Guests (Impossible Mongoose), The Kaufman Kabaret (Studio Theatre), Under Cover (Concrete Theatre, Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Nomination), Working it Out (Alberta Workers’ Health Centre), Bone Wars (Punctuate Theatre), Apple (Sage Theatre), Flight Risk (Lunchbox Theatre), The Scarlet Letter (Theatre Calgary), The Wedding Party (Alberta Theatre Projects), Sherlock Holmes & the Raven’s Curse (Vertigo Theatre).

Kristen is also an Artistic Co-Producer with Impossible Mongoose (Edmonton) where she’s produced two multiple Sterling award-winning Fringe hits, ‘The Fall of the House of Atreus’ and ‘Prophecy’, both by Jessy Ardern.

Kodie Rollan – Artistic Associate

Kodie Rollan, Artistic Associate

Kodie Rollan is Philippine-born, Scarborough-raised, Calgary-based playwright, actor, and producer. Kodie holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts in Arts Leadership from Queen’s University. As an actor, Kodie is passionate about exploring how an Asian body can transform a story. He is excited and humbled by every opportunity that champions representation on stage. As a playwright, he is drawn to telling stories that examine the socio-political environment of our world.

His select acting credits include: Working It Out (Workplays Alberta), The Wedding Singer (Front Row Centre Players), BARE: A Pop Opera (The Honest Collective), and Spamalot (Front Row Centre Players).  His writing credits include: The Watchdog Society (Downstage Theatre’s Simon Mallett New Works Program), Ya Burnt! (2019 IGNITE! Festival for Emerging Artists), Free from Phobia (2018 Body in Space: An Art Party), Funny Man (2018 IGNITE! Festival for Emerging Artists), Handle with Care (2017 Kingston Juvenis Festival).
